South Dorset Ridgeway

The South Dorset Ridgeway is approximately 17 miles long and runs from West Bexington in the west to Osmington Mills in the east. The entire length is littered with important Neolithic and Iron Age sites. There are Hill Forts, Barrows, Neolithic Earthworks and Stone Circles. There are over 1,000 ancient monuments along its length dating back to around 4,000BC. As well as the ancient history there are stunning views of the coast. It also passes close to Maiden Castle. There are multiple parking places along its length but you will be compelled to put on your walking boots and explore for yourself.
